The NJP 10" Jumbo Water Filter Housing — the format widely known in the trade as Big Blue — takes a 4.5" diameter cartridge instead of the standard 2.5". That near-doubling of diameter gives several times the filtration surface area and a far greater dirt-holding capacity, which is what matters on water carrying a real sediment load. In practice that means longer intervals between cartridge changes and less pressure drop as the cartridge loads up. Ports step up to 1" brass and unrestricted flow rises to 58 L/min, so the housing keeps up with higher simultaneous demand rather than becoming the restriction in the system. It suits domestic properties on private wells or boreholes where sediment is heavier than mains water, and commercial installations where a standard 10" cartridge would need changing too often to be practical.
